How do i enter cheats in the Sims 3 for pc?

I u have to do ctrl+shift+c first and then testingcheatsenabled

after i do this and press enter the typing thing dissapear, i tried to bring it back up and then put the cheats code directly but it keeps saying "unkown command"How do i enter cheats in the Sims 3 for pc?
