i know you have the link, and that really covers it all... but the best ones i use (for sims 2 anyway), are:
ctrlshiftc (to open cheats window)
motherlode - 50 000 simoleons
kaching - 1000 simoleons
moveObjects(on) - lets you move and delete stuff you can normally (moveObjects(off) turns it off)
boolProp testingcheatsenabled true - lets you do SOOOOOO much stuff when you hold down shift and click sims and various objects, to turn it off replave the 'true' with a 'false' and also, for it to work, go into the house youre playing, enter it, go back to neighbourhood, then back into house, and its activated...
also, that cheat lets you move the bars up and down, so you can just like move hunger and sleep etc up to full in a second, and also give them all the creativity and logic and stuff, and also give them the highest level in a chosen job instantly... its all pretty awesome :)

and also, i played my friends' sims 3, and i didnt think it was that much better, i think the houses you build are better in sims 2 anyway, i didnt get much gameplay though, so i guess it could be better... look for review online, theyre probably good and more professional than anything you'd get on here lol

Actually what you need to do is open up the cheat box (shift+ctrl+c) and type in testingcheatsenabled true. Shift click on the mailbox on your sims house. There will be many options. You can turn this off by clicking on the mailbox again and clicking "make needs dynamic". Okay, so with this cheat. can you buy houses already owned by other sims? If not, is there any way to say...KILL the sims in that house? lol OR, any cheats that will allow me to kick that family out and buy the house? My family is very large, and I need a bigger house. ORRRR, If somebody can answer all of those questions plus this next one, (if there is more than one person, I'll compare answers) they will get best answer. I'm going to list the questions below. The hot tub is in the Late Night expansion, you have to get that in order to get a hot tub. The latest patch had my sims wishing for a hot tub even though I don't have Late Night! %26gt;:[ Not. Happy. No hot tub cheat as far as I'm concerned.
Anyway, there's the main cheat that allows a whole bunch of other cheats: "testingCheatsEnabled true" without the quotation marks. You press Ctrl-Shift-C to enter these cheats.
If you enter that in the Main Menu, before you start a game, in the game you will be able to increase a sim's Lifetime Happiness by Ctrl-clicking around the treasure chest. It gives you 500 happiness points with every click. Those "Shaazam" cheats don't work at all, so don't bother with them.
Shift-click your household's mailbox and there will be a bunch of options available. There's "Make all happy", "Make Needs Static" (which basically rids of the need to sleep, go to the bathroom, eat, etc) and if this is enabled, there's "Make Needs Dynamic" (which doesn't rid of said needs). There's options to force a NPC (Non-Controlled Player) to the lot, and more.
If you Shift-click a sim, the options "Favorite music", "Trigger Age Transition", and "Change Traits" appear. If you're Shift-clicking a sim that you're not currently, the additional option "Add to Household" comes up also.
Type "help" after Ctrl-Shift-C and more cheats with descriptions come up. "Motherlode", my most-used, gives you 50,000 Simeloins (forgot how to spell it :C) and "Kaching" gives you either 1,000 or 5,000, I forget.
If you're trying to kill someone really quick or something, have "Make Needs Dynamic" on and go to the Needs section of the victim sim and pressing shift, drag it all of the way to the left. The sim dies pretty much on spot.
You COULD also select ANOTHER sim and while being that sim, shift-click the victim sim and choose "Object" %26gt; "Delete" but this simply deletes the sim and the Grim Reaper doesn't come. I've found out that you could even invite the 'deleted' sim over via Long-Distance! D8;; That's deleted, all right. /Sarcasm
Shift-click a building and you can delete it. If it is the school (deleting the school and if there's not another one, allows kids and teenagers to skip school. :]), you can also "Force opportunity" if you're a teacher or student there. If you're an adult, you can Shift-click your work building and "Force Opportunity" from there.
If you want to make a bunch of best friends quick without talking and talking to other sims, (because, really, who enjoys talking to people? :P XD) find the sim *IF YOUR SIM ALREADY KNOWS THAT SIM* in Relationships tab and Shift-drag the relationship bar under the sim's picture to the right. You can drag it to the left if you want them to be disliked.
There's a lot more, including glitches and hacks/mods (AwesomeMod for example, just search it) that give you even more cheats.

Why won't Sims 3 cheats work on my computer?
I've played my Sims 3 disc on 2 different computers, 1 a Windows PC and 1 a Mac Notebook, and neither of them worked when I tried to do cheats. I follow the exact instructions and type "TestingCheatsEnabled" and try to click on the mailbox, or on my sim, etc, but it never works.

i forget what it is..but goto gamefaqs.com - even from sims 1 n sims 2 once u do the shift + ctrl + c you had to type in something first to allow the cheats to be able to become active to type in..if you dont the cheats will never work.
